CLOSETHEGAP SUPPORT The CloseTheGap company offers a whole range of possible supports for all mountain biking, gravel and road cycling, not to mention triathlon. The specific hangers are also and you can install all types of counters from small to larger sizes and some of its brand. The only missing mark is TWONAV due to its specific fixing system. For compatibility with the handlebars, we oscillate between 31.8mm and 31.8/35mm. For AERO handlebars, the HideMyBell insider range (above the stem) is not lacking in models. SUPPORTED GPS METER No jealousy, all brands of speedometers are compatible with the various long, short, front or underside brackets. “Only the TwoNav brand is the big one missing from the list”. It is imperative to check the presence or not of the adapter for GPS counters from LEZEYNE, if this is an imperative for you. WHICH MODEL TO CHOOSE? The question of size no longer arises with supports. The GARMIN EDGE 1040, BRYTON S800, STAGE L200, WAHOO ROAM can be installed on all models except the HideMyBell mini version. If you have a HAMMERHEAD KAROO 2 computer and you want to use its specific mounting system, you must also take an adapter. For this test, I opted for the HellMyBell regular 2 version which seems to me to be a very good choice for mountain biking or GRAVEL since the computer will be positioned in line with the stem. INSTALLING AND MAINTAINING THE GPS For the installation nothing very complicated, we have a removable hinge to easily place the front support. A little tightening and you're done. A rubberized element will ensure a good optimal grip with the handlebar. To make the front support compatible with your model of GPS computer, simply unscrew the bell, collect the two nuts and replace the insert present with the correct model. The operation takes two minutes. CAMERA AND LIGHTING Like many front supports, it is possible on the HellMyBell regular 2 to install an accessory on the underside to position a camera or lighting. In both cases, the camera or lighting does not interfere with the operation of the doorbell. TEST REPORT In terms of finishes, nothing to complain about, the plastic is of good quality and once fixed, the support does not move. The fixing of the GPS and whatever the model is irreproachable and even in the worst conditions of use. Tested in Gravel, the support has resisted all types of terrain and I am not afraid to take on rough paths. The doorbell is totally forgotten due to its positioning under the GPS counter. The sound is identical to a traditional version, which is interesting and it is immediately identifiable. The lever, which is much more accessible than on the models, makes it possible to operate the bell effectively. Important point, we do not suffer from parasitic noise coming from the winding doorbell. In the field, on a cycle path or on the road, the bell proves to be extremely effective and I find its use more civic than alerting hikers with a "Beware or I'm going left". It is especially a good idea to share our spaces in all courtesy. Regarding the maintenance of the GPS counter, the CloseTheGap HellMyBell regular 2 support is formidable in its efficiency and regardless of its size or weight.
